Our Technology Partners
Digital Energy Management Device (EMD)
All Staycold refrigeration units come equipped with the Danfoss ERC112 EMD. This is a highly intelligent, all-in-one control system designed to enhance energy efficiency, reliability, and ease of use.
The controller uses multiple sensor imputs and refined parameter settings exclusive to Staycold to optimize compressor, fan, lights and defrost operations based on real-time conditions. Its built-in ECO mode reduces power consumption by adjusting internal temperature control during periods of low activity, such as overnight or during store closures. The system automatically exits ECO mode when trading activity resumes, ensuring product temperatures remain at perfect serve conditions.
With approximately 200 programmable parameters, Staycold’s units benefit from full customization, adaptive defrost scheduling, and compressor protection features that prolong equipment life and reduce maintenance. Alarms for condenser temperature, voltage irregularities, door status, and sensor issues provide peace of mind and proactive fault detection.
Rugged and IP65-rated, the Danfoss controller is built to perform in demanding commercial settings. Making it a vital component of Staycold’s energy-efficient, future-ready refrigeration solutions.
Electronically Commutated (EC) Fans
At Staycold, our commitment to innovation and sustainability is reflected in the use of high-performance Electronically Commutated (EC) fan motors in many units across our refrigeration range.
We have integrated the latest iQC EC motors from industry leader ebm-papst into our units to deliver superior energy efficiency, reduced maintenance, and long-term reliability. These motors are engineered to manage the demanding conditions of commercial environments. Including retail, hospitality, and foodservice where uptime and consistency are critical.
The iQC motors are IP65-rated, making them resistant to dust and water jet cleaning, ideal for the real-world conditions our coolers operate in. Because of their design, the iQC fans are also spark proof, making them fully compliant for use within our Hydrocarbon range of units.
Quieter operation, lower heat output, and a maintenance-free bearing system contribute to a more sustainable, cost-effective solution. This supports our users bottom line and the planet.
CoolIT Telemetry System
Staycold’s advanced CoolIT telemetry system, developed in partnership with Digital Twin, takes our offering to the next level with regards to smart refrigeration.
This platform enables real-time remote monitoring, control, and diagnostics across fleets of thousands of Staycold units, wherever they are located. Each unit is equipped with global roaming capability, allowing seamless integration into a centralized dashboard that offers visibility on performance, energy usage, usage characteristics and operational status.
Through features like geofencing, automated alerts, two-way communication, and over-the-air (OTA) updates, our telemetry solution empowers customers to make data-driven decisions. It flags potential issues, enables better preventative maintenance scheduling, and reduces the need for lengthy on-site service visits by allowing access to pre-visit diagnosis information in advance.
Whether you are managing a fleet of beverage coolers across retail stores or monitoring cold storage in hospitality or other environments, Staycold’s CoolIT provides actionable insights that reduce downtime, cut energy costs, and deliver peace of mind.
Its simple 1-wire connection to the coolers EMD means that the technology is not limited to new units, and can be retro fitted to any Staycold unit manufactured in the last 10-15 years.
This is not just smart cooling, it is a scalable, future-ready refrigeration network designed to help clients, especially those with a large fleet of assets in multiple locations, have the ability to proactively manage their fleet of units and ultimately bring the total cost of ownership (TCO) down.
Resichem
At Staycold, our commitment to sustainability begins at the core of our refrigeration units. We use Resichem’s high-performance polyurethane foam, produced with FSI’s Ecomate® blowing agent technology, to ensure both outstanding performance and minimal environmental impact.
This advanced insulation provides superior thermal efficiency, maintaining consistent temperatures inside our coolers and freezers while lowering energy consumption and operational costs. It also reinforces the structural strength of our cabinets, helping our units withstand demanding conditions and ensuring reliability over time.
What makes this insulation especially important is its environmental profile. Ecomate® is a proven, sustainable blowing agent with zero global warming potential (GWP), zero ozone depletion potential (ODP), and is fully VOC-exempt. It has been SNAP-approved by the U.S. EPA since 2003 and is compliant with international environmental protocols, making it one of the most responsible options available. By adopting this technology, Staycold aligns with global best practices while reducing the carbon footprint of every unit we manufacture.
By integrating Resichem foam with Ecomate® technology, our refrigeration units deliver on three critical fronts: energy efficiency, long-term durability, and environmental responsibility. This combination not only reduces operating costs and maintenance needs for our customers but also drives us closer to our net zero goals. Every Staycold unit is therefore a sustainable investment built to perform and built for the future.
Cubigel Compressor Technology
At the core of every Staycold refrigeration unit is premium compression technology from Cubigel Compressors®, a global leader in light commercial refrigeration for over 60 years. Renowned for their innovation, reliability, and efficiency, Cubigel compressors are designed to deliver consistent performance in even the most demanding commercial environments.
Cubigel offers one of the most extensive ranges in the industry, with hermetic reciprocating compressors from 1.4 cc to 38 cc, capable of operating with a variety of refrigerants, voltages, and applications. From compact, low-noise units for small beverage coolers to high-capacity models built for heavy-duty storage, every compressor is engineered to provide optimal cooling while minimizing energy consumption.
As a pioneer in green cooling solutions, Cubigel develops high-efficiency models that reduce energy use by up to 30% compared to standard compressors. Many of their models are specifically optimized for natural refrigerants such as R290 (propane) and R600a (isobutane), which not only meet global environmental regulations but also enhance cooling performance. This commitment to sustainability ensures that businesses can achieve operational efficiency while lowering their carbon footprint.
Cubigel compressors are built with durability in mind, featuring robust construction and wide voltage tolerance to handle diverse operating conditions worldwide. Their advanced designs also reduce operational noise without compromising performance, making them ideal for environments where both efficiency and quiet operation are essential.
By integrating Cubigel’s advanced compressor technology into Staycold units, we ensure our customers benefit from a perfect balance of energy efficiency, reliability, and environmental responsibility. The result is refrigeration that keeps products at their ideal temperature, reduces running costs, and extends equipment lifespan — delivering exceptional value throughout the total cost of ownership (TCO).
