We at Staycold International have been receiving entries for our Wanted Alive! Competition that launched in August 2020. This was launched to coincide with our hunt to find the oldest working Staycold beverage cooler in Southern Africa.

The winning unit will be bought home to our factory in Parys, given some TLC and proudly displayed in our showroom where it will receive the honour it deserves. It will be placed there together with our brand-new models that are showcased and available to the trade.

There are less than two months left to find this cooler, as the closing date is the 31st January 2021. The winner will be chosen and receive a brand new Staycold fridge in the equivalent size in exchange for this unit! They will also be invited to visit the unit at our showroom in 2021 and given the thanks they deserve for purchasing one of our Staycold
units soon after launch in 1980.

Worth mentioning are entries received from Humansdorp in the Eastern Cape, the Karoo, Free State, Phalaborwa in Limpopo and as far afield as Hong Kong. The Hong Kong entry does not unfortunately qualify as the winning entry should come from Southern African Customs Union (SACU).

We are needing to keep the entries under wraps until the winner is chosen but we thought to add a comment here from one of the entrants: “I bought the unit second-hand about 18 years ago, from a person who had also bought it second-hand. Since then it has been keeping our guests drinks cool and refreshing without missing a beat.”

All will be revealed in February 2021 and we encourage hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, halfway houses, pubs, butcheries, farm stores etc to check their Staycold and enter!
